Mar. 10th, 2012 03:38 pmLet's play a game!
The game is simple. It's a prompt and write type of game. A person leaves a one word prompt (and it can be a simple random word like 'cloud' or we will even accept a two word prompt like 'bad kisser') and ANYONE can write a 100-500 word story in response. There must be a pairing within the story and it must be a rare pairing. Here are the guidelines.
Prompters
• Your prompt must be only one word (and we will even accept two words) and it can be anything you like.
• If you want to add a pairing, you can, however if you leave it open for pairings, you will get a much larger range of stories.
• If you wish to specify if you want het or slash or threesome or femmeslash, you can, but once again, if you don't specify you will have a much larger ranger.
• To help with allowing more prompts to be written for, you can only prompt five times. One prompt for each comment
Writers
• Unless the prompter specifies, you can write whatever pairing you want as long as it's rare!
• Here is the challenge. Your story MUST be between 100-500 words. If it's a couple words over, obviously that won't matter.
• More than one person can reply to a prompt. Either they can be the same pairing or different pairing! It doesn't matter. The more the better.
• In the subject line, please have your pairing and rating.

Date: 2012-03-10 08:08 pm (UTC)Regulus watched him from across the lake as he approached. The wind blew, smelling faintly of an impending storm, and tickled a cascade of leaves from Severus's tree. They rained down on the boy hunched over his book, swirling around him in the lingering breeze. A single leaf, stark yellow, stuck to Severus's head, its stem caught in his hair. He didn't react; his obliviousness bringing a smile to Regulus's face.
Once he'd reached him, Regulus sat down beside Severus, setting a plate of food in front of him, and unceremoniously snatched his book away from him. Severus snarled at him, but Regulus paid him no mind, knowing it was without any real malice, and appraised the unadorned front cover of the book. "Flobberworms: A Treatise on the Practical and Theoretical Applications in Potions and Poultices." Regulus raised an eyebrow at him. "Sounds fascinating."
Severus turned his considerable nose up at Regulus. "I wouldn't expect a mindless twit such as yourself to understand the complex and subtle art of—"
"Flobberworms," Regulus said, cutting him off with an amused smirk.
Glaring, Severus puffed himself up to argue further, but Regulus put him off by plucking the errant leaf from Severus's hair. He caressed the length of the older boy's nose with the tip, silencing him, and distracting him from his adversity.
"I brought you lunch," he said quietly, enchanting them both by twirling the leaf between his finger and thumb. "Since you forgot. Again. Apparently because of worms."
Severus's lips thinned in irritation. Regulus knew he didn't like to be teased, even affectionately, but he really made it too difficult to resist sometimes.
Using the leaf as a bookmark, Regulus closed it and set it aside. He smiled in the face of Severus's seemingly constant state of annoyance and leaned forward to kiss it away.
"Eat," he commanded softly against lips before pulling away.
Severus nodded, pressing his lips together to savor the tingle, and pulled the plate of food into his lap.
The wind blew lazily again, stirring up more leaves around them. Regulus sighed contentedly and leaned back against the tree to watch.
