Banned Pairings 2013

It's that time of the fest where we go through banned pairings. A few new ones have been added due to new fests being created for those specific pairings. Feel free to discuss with the mods if you feel a pairing should be added or taken off the list.



What are the rare pairs?
We are aware that rare pairings are hard to define, especially with the growing popularity of former rare pairings, however we have done our best to decide which pairings are too popular for this fest. We have done this on the basis of what pairings have specific active fests or communities that hold challenges related to them on LJ. We apologize if you do not agree with these pairings, however, for this challenge we have decided on these banned pairings:

Harry/Ron [due to an oversight - this pairing will be accepted in the 2013 fest]

Draco/Ron [new - they have a new fest]

Snape/Lily
Snape/Remus
Snape/Luna (they have a fest)

Lucius/Narcissa

Notes:

• If you would like to appeal for one of the pairings, the mods would be happy to discuss it with you. However, we do believe that if said pairing already has a fest on Livejournal that has run in the last two years, we do not consider it a rare pairing for this specific fest.

• If you believe a pairing should be on this list, the mods would also be willing to discuss that with you.

• Please don't be afraid to approach us and discuss. We are very nice and we're always willing to talk about it.

• Please be aware that we can't make everyone happy, but we will try our best. As we said, it's very hard to define a rare pairing.

• As soon as the prompting post has been posted, this list will no longer be edited.

Draco/Ron is banned? Ah, that is a bummer, I didn't even know they had a fest.

Not a mod, but... ron_draco_fest is new and has prompts and claiming is still open I think right up until pieces are due end of January. I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes out of it!

tryslora is absolutely right. The fest we were referring to is ron_draco_fest. So the pairing has a fest dedicated completely to them, which is always a good thing! :D

Question, how about Severus/Sirius?

As far as we are aware, there are no fests for them. So as long as there isn't a fest in the last two years dedicated completely to that pairing, then they are absolutely fine :)

Threesomes are absolutely fine! The only one that we consider not to be rare is Snape/Harry/Draco. :)

It is both depressing and wonderful that there is not a single Neville pairing banned! Depressing because no one sees how cool Neville is, and awesome because I can submit a tonne of prompts for Neville-centric pairings XD

(On the other hand, people who want to write Hermione, Harry, Draco, or Snape are pretty out of luck. Ah, Severus...!)
