Augusta, Frank and Alice Longbottom, and Susan Bones. I just love all the Longbottoms in general (especially Neville), and for some reason I've always liked Susan. I like to think she comes from the same mold as her aunt Amelia, and I was extremely disappointed that she wasn't mentioned even once in DH.

The older women in general: McGonagall (does she count as minor?), Sprout and Pomfrey, Griselda Marchbanks (OWL examiner from the Dept. of Magical Education), Augusta Longbottom, Madam Rosmerta, Madam Malkin, Bathilda Bagshot, Auntie Muriel Weasley. Even Walburga Black.

I like the older men, too -- Moody, Filch, Aberforth, Ollivander, Flitwick, Scrimgeour.

And Kingsley. Love Kingsley.

Blaise, Pansy, Viktor, Cormac, Charlie, Regulus, Andromeda, Oliver. I have soft spots for Lavender and Cho, as well. Everybody's favorite is Ginny or Hermione or Pansy--really, though, I find it so easy to relate to these two. I also quite like the Patil twins, Daphne and Astoria Greengrass, Theo Nott, and Adrian Pucey.

Antonin Dolohov, Evan Rosier, Regulus, Augustus Rookwood, Pansy, Ernie, Scorpius, Lysander, Louis, Hugo... Also, Bellatrix, Lily Evans and Narcissa who, I guess, count as minor...kinda... I just kinda like all the Slytherins/younger first war Death Eaters (Regulus and Severus' lot). Except Blaise...not sure why, but he bugs me.

It is. The first time I encountered it my brain was completely broken. I went "wha-um-whatwhatWHAT?" And then I loved it. And the fic was maybe 150 words?

I've only found a short one-shot or two, but I have ideas. (Particularly: Voldemort-loyalist Snape brings Poppy to the Dark side. I *have* to write that one sometime.) If you want I can try to dig up the link/s. :)

Because, you *know* that Poppy knows everything going on in that school. She's intelligent and has to have decent observational skills as a nurse, but nobody ever bothers to think about her loyalties or notice if she's in the room. I'm willing to bet she's got a touch of natural legilimency too. Plus, if there's a portrait of Dilys in her office, she has direct access to the headmaster's office....

You might like verus_janus' fic, very DE-centric, and dear Abraxas gets - *gasp* - characterization. Unless you are all about OH THE GLORY OF VILLAINS; janus has a very nuanced/sympathetic view as opposed to the darkfic aspect. (I go back and forth, myself.)

Sympathetic DEs are the love of my life. Lol. Seriously, the best comments I've gotten on fics are those that have said I've made them think about the DEs more/differently/from an inside perspective etc. Janus' fics are wonderful and probably much better than mine so go forth and read :D

Lol in my headcanon Antonin, Augustus, Rodolphus etc, didn't go to school with Riddle. Their fathers are Riddle's contemporaries and those of Tom's generation didn't really become Death Eaters. He was much better at swaying the younger lot, though his generation certainly supported his cause, they mostly just didn't actively fight, though some did. But then, that's just my headcanon :)

Oliver Wood is my all time favorite. I also like Ernie McMillan, Hannah Abbot, Seamus Finnagan, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, (Not sure if you would consider the last two minor.) Marcus Flint. I'm sure there are several other but I can't think of them right now.

Charlie Weasley, Blaise Zabini (particularly female!Blaise, I was so disappointed when Zabini turned out to be male :( ), Teddy Lupin (!!!!), Lily Evans (not Potter) (who is only minor because she's not a full-bodied (?) character until the end), The Fat Lady (who is awesome and doesn't get enough comedic love xD), and Theodore Nott because no one writes about him. :(

[If Neville counts as minor, he gets my vote. I kind of wish he were the actual hero of HP if only because his progression from mousey stuttering Neville looking for his toad to total BAMF Neville who cuts off Nagini's head a) didn't get enough attention, and b) sounds totally epic.]

I'm glad no one asked about my favorite major/majoresque characters.... [Does Fred Weasley count as a minor character? He is my favorite twin. When he died, my HP canon collapsed in on me. :(]

Percy, Fred, and George - although to me, they're not minor at all. Then there's Fred II and Teddy Lupin...

But my favorite minor character is super minor. It's Verity, the assistant shop keep to the twins, in Half-Blood Prince, in the chapter Draco's Detour. I don't know why I latched onto her like I did, but it happened, and now I ship Gerity so hard it's painful (George/Verity).

But, yeah. :3
